A LOGICAL-SEMANTIC MODEL OF ENVIRONMENT DESIGNER’S PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND THE CONCEPT OF "WHEEL OF COMPETENCY" FOR A CREATIVE TEAM

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №4 (80) December, 2022

The subject of the study is the specificity of the professional competence of an environment designer in the context of the convergence of science and art. The goal is to create a model of the phenomenon under study and a methodology for assessing the qualifications of environmental designers in the interests of creative team building. It is assumed that such a model can be developed by identifying semantic groups of competencies and logical relationships between them. Methods: logical-semantic modeling and individual competence profiling. Results. 1) A logical-semantic model has been developed for an environment designer’s professional competence, representing its specificity with the necessary and sufficient degree of completeness and providing a systematic insight into the phenomenon under study; 2) the training program for environmental designers at St. Petersburg State University has been modernized, and a concept of environment designer’s individual competence profiling based on LSM has been developed. Applications of the results: practical training in the field of environment design; assessment of environment designer qualifications.
