MODEL PROJECTS IN THE ARCHITECTURE OF RESIDENTIAL STONE BUILDINGS IN TOBOLSK PROVINCE IN THE LATE 19th – EARLY 20th CENTURY

The article is devoted to the stone architecture of cities in the Tobolsk province (Tobolsk, Tyumen, Ishim, Yalutorovsk) dating back to the second half of the 19th - early 20th century. The stone house designs have been studied. Initially, the main dimensions of the buildings were close to those of wooden houses; later the builders reoriented themselves to the brick module. The architecture of the provincial cities followed capital-city design projects. Although there is no confirmation that the buildings were made according to model façades, analysis helped identify common features through the examination of model and normal façades and their reflection in the residential stone architecture. The study revealed five types of stone houses in the cities of the Tobolsk province in terms of spatial planning. The typology was compiled by comparing model projects with house façades from the second half of the 19th - early 20th century.
