DESIGNING GROUP PLANTINGS OF TREES AND SHRUBS

The article describes the methodological foundations of designing group plantings of trees and shrubs. The basic principles of tree and shrub species selection for arranging open, dense, clean and mixed groups are considered. It is shown that for mixed groups of trees and shrubs, plants should be selected according to the principle of not only decorative but also ecological and biological compatibility. Based on the ecological and morphological characteristics of plants, we recommend a range of species for creating various groups of trees and shrubs in the central zone of the European part of Russia.
