The article overviews the history of the city block No. 214 located in the historical center of Kazan and the influence of various factors on the formation of the northern part of Zabulachye as a whole. On the basis of archival materials, literature, and interviews with specialists, the historical evolution of the block’s spatial composition has been established. The historical significance of the site is highlighted, including the influence of the Moscow road on the function of the quarter, and prospects for its further development are identified.
