Psychological aspects of A. Klein’s method of designing small-sized apartment plans: possible sources and impacts

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (86) June, 2024

The study of various approaches to small-sized apartment designing developed by German architects in the 1920s expands the modern understanding of the concepts of social housing in Weimar Germany. This paper considers aesthetic (psychologizing) concepts as they are reflected in A. Klein’s method of designing small-sized apartment plans based on a review of architectural theorists' articles published in the second half of the 1920s and the architect’s own writings. A.Klein’s aesthetic views are considered in greater depths than previously examined in the research literature.
