The locomotive depot at Vyazemskaya Station – a cultural heritage site of the Khabarovsk Krai

This article continues the study of the architectural heritage of the Trans-Siberian Railway in Khabarovsk Krai at the turn of the 20th century and focuses on a recognized regional architectural heritage site — the rectangular-type locomotive depot at Vyazemskaya Station. The history of the building and of its predecessor, a wooden depot, is reviewed. Similar depot structures on the Ussuri Railway and other railways constructed in the Russian Empire are considered. The current condition of the heritage site is described. Certain historical details are clarified. The study is based on archival materials, including station layout blueprints, locomotive depot design projects, and explanatory notes.
