ARCHITECTURE OF FAMILY-TYPE CHILDREN'S HOMES IN WESTERN EUROPE

Based on information about Western European children's homes of family type the author reviews their architecture for the purpose of establishing principles underlying the design and identification of their basic types. The basic part of the article is a review and analysis of 20th-21st century family type children's homes in four countries of Western Europe: UK, France, Germany and Switzerland. The analysis has suggested the basic principles of architectural design and planning and typological classification of these facilities.
