Discussions about the future of design and design education

The article examines the main vectors of changes that are characteristic of the design sphere and are determining its future: expansion of the boundaries of professional activity, participation of design in the production of social innovations, development of principles of sustainable and pluriversal design, and influence of generative artificial intelligence technologies on design processes. The problems of design education are analyzed from the point of view of readiness for these changes. Recommendations of leading foreign experts on improving educational programs in the field of design are presented.
