The type of wooden community center in a small industrial settlement during the period of Soviet pre-war industrialization (using the example of the Dzerzhinsky club in the village of Nizhnyaya Poyma, Krasnoyarsk Krai)

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №3 (91) September, 2025

The Soviet public architecture of the first post-war decade is considered using as an example a departmental community center (club). The role of economic and social factors that influenced the emergence and functioning of the workers' club as a type of building and its place and role in the urban context of new industrial settlements are shown. A review of the stylistic and structural features of the example building is used as a basis for the discussion of its significance in the architectural process and among typological analogues. It is concluded that the building pertains to the characteristic type that emerged after the revolution of 1917.
