On typological status of a children's model library in modern architecture

The article examines the place of the children's model library in the existing typology of libraries. Stages in the library building evolution and the formation of children's libraries as an independent type of buildings in the general structure of this typology are considered, including key stages of development, historical triggers, and personalities that influenced the formation of these objects, and how children's libraries adapted to the conditions and requirements of modern society. Similarities and differences between children's and school libraries are identified. Russian library design regulations are considered. Prospects for the development of children's model libraries in the context of digitalization and globalization of modern society are outlined.
