Architectural and planning approaches to the organization of the Black sea coastal areas of the Russian Federation

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №1 (93) March, 2026

The article considers the architectural and planning approaches to spatial organization of the recreational and beach areas of seaside resort towns. The "first line of the sea" is defined as area with characteristic features in the maximally functional band of 500-700 m from the sea. The zone that is the tourist attraction center is the image-forming core of the resort part of the city.
A system of architectural and planning principles is proposed for organizing coastal recreational zones in resort cities, based on the definition of the coastal strip as a key area for attracting tourists and combining the urban and resort spatial environments in a harmonious unity.
