On the definition of the concept of "technogenicity" in robotics design

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (94) June, 2026

Technogenic design and its symbiosis with biomorphism are used in robotic design practice spontaneously, without any specific systematization or methodology. The purpose of the article is to explore the meaning of the concept of «technogenicity» in the context of robotic design. It addresses the question of which attributes, features, components, and robot design means can be considered technogenic, and to what extent. The difficulties that arise in searching for the most accurate definition are discussed, along with ways to overcome them. The differences between «technical» and «technogenic» are identified, and the nuances of using the definitions are clarified. The importance of highlighting technogenicity as a distinct area with its own objectives, principles, and form-developing logic for design theory and practice is emphasized.
