The article presents an analysis of the wooden residential architecture of the city of Cherepovets in the Novgorod province in the last third of the 19th century. The characteristics of wooden buildings are based on a review of documents from the State Archives of the Vologda Region. The first part of the article examines the spatial planning solutions and the appearance of the main facades of wooden residential buildings which have not been analysed in the scholarly literature before. The verbal description of the buildings is accompanied by visual information (site plans, architectural plans, and exterior views of the main facades) which have not been published before.

The aim of this article is to expand our understanding of the wooden architecture of Cherepovets, Novgorod Province, in the last third of the 19th century based on the study of documents from the State Archives of the Vologda Region. The second part of the article the questions of the spatial planning solutions and the exterior views of the main facades of wooden buildings that are not classified as large residential houses. The textual description of the buildings is accompanied by previously unpublished drawings of these structures (site plans, architectural plans, and exterior views of the main façades).
