ICONICS: MEANS OF GRAPHIC VISUALIZATION

The article presents a concept for identifying and structuring visual modelling means based on the morphological approach in its systems format. Consideration of analytically identified intrinsic components of graphic modelling and their interactions within form generation is carried out in the context of synthesis of the theoretical concept and practical action as the basic categories of the modelling processes. The authors define as such basic categories/means of visual modelling the abstract "trace-pattern" and the materialized "trace-carrier". These categories are considered in systemic combinatory complexes of morphological visualization means brought about by the need and specifics of the modelling presentation of a design idea. The article is oriented towards research and educational processes realized in design, art, culture and other areas of activity.
