The article considers issues in the organisation of modern-day visual information urban environment. The main functions and types of media carrying visual information are analyzed. Pressing issues are identified in the development of a complete and ergonomically optimal visual image with reference to the city of Krasnodar. Modernisation of visual environments is considered and ways to improve are discussed.
