ON THE ONTOLOGY OF A JEWELLERY

The article is devoted to theoretical issues in jewellery design and describes experiences in elaborating some essential themes and relationships that are important for development of the ontology of a piece of jewellery. This concerns, first of all, such contexts in which jewellery exists as language and space. The author considers relationships between the morphology and symbolism of jewellery and the morphological and semantic structures of the verbal language of architecture and outlines a typology of forms of jewellery space.

The article is devoted to the issue of fundamental changes in visual communications and to the consequences of these changes in the context of visual design evolution. The author considers a range of factors behind the origin of a new visual reality and specificity of the current visual discourse from the perspective of methodological problems concerning further evolution of the visual design profession. A hypothesis is proposed concerning the transformation of the professional activity model in visual communication design in the context of the current visuality crisis.
