The article considers the problem of priority access for pedestrians in the city within the framework of the city’s strategy. The pedestrian system of Ekaterinburg is reviewed, resulting in a number of conditions that need to be met for the pedestrian space to function successfully. Based on the requirements identified, the pedestrian section Krasnoarmeyskaya Street is analyzed.
