FEATURES OF THE PLANNING SOLUTION FOR THE «PREODOLENIE» REHABILITATION CENTER FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

The article considers the architectural and planning features of the "Preodoleniye" Rehabilitation Center in which adults and children over 14 years of age with disabilities receive treatment. The study paid particular attention to the opinions of the Center’s clinical staff obtained through interviewing. I reviewed the functionalities of the premises and unique solutions introduced through the implementation of international standards in the building handed over to rehabilitation center. The nuances and peculiarities of the plans are described, and the reasons for using assistive devices and accessories in the interior are given. A comprehensive analysis was carried out to identify the architectural and planning solutions of the circulation, living and housekeeping spaces that are essential for ensuring comfortable stay and safety of wheelchair clients. А comparison of the Russian and German standards has revealed differences in the level of comfort in the proposed planning solutions. The most favorable dimensions of a dwelling unit for wheelchair users and the adjoining bathroom are identified. The plans of the center and, in particular, the plan of the units are presented.
