THE MORPHOTYPES OF DÉCOR ELEMENTS IN THE WOODEN HOUSES OF VOLOGDA CITY USING PLATBANDS, ENTRANCE DOORS AND CORNICES AS AN EXAMPLE

The author has identified and classified the basic types of entrance door platbands and infills and cornices and has described the stylistic characteristics of wooden house décor as used in Vologda in the late 18th-early 20th century. All these types are illustrated by examples and are tabulated. The research methodology is based on comprehensive collection, examination and analysis of field survey results, photographic images and graphic analysis.
