The article considers the effects that the penetration of western culture had on the creative works of the Japanese designer Ikko Tanaka. The author uses concrete examples to demonstrate the influence of such stylistic movements in design as neoplasticism, suprematism and Swiss Style in typography. The influence of Ikko Tanaka’s creative works on the contemporary generation of designers is highlighted, proving the importance of the creativity and graphic design heritage that he has left.
