The article considers the main trends and principles which emerged in the interior design and decoration of Art Nouveau private houses in St. Petersburg. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that we have used not only published photos, sketches and documents but also little-known archive materials, as well as our own in-situ observations for complex analytical summarizing and description of St. Petersburg mansions and dachas.
