METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO CONSERVATION OF THE MAUSOLEUMS IN THE SOUTHEASTERN PART OF HISTORICAL BOLGHAR

The mausoleum conservation projects are associated with the implementation of the historical Bolghar "revival" programme. The aim of the article is to identify ways, methods and principles for the conservation and museumification of these monuments. Combination of conservation and revalorization becomes an important issue in view of the need to arrange a "museum" display. Archaeological data and field surveys have resulted in a design proposal for each mausoleum separately, with identification of specific features and methodological approaches to their designing.
