A REVIEW OF GERMAN INDUSRTIAL HERITAGE REVITALISATION PROJECTS BY J.HERZOG AND DE MEURON

The article presents a detailed review of two projects by the Swiss architects Jacque Herzog and Pierre de Meuron. Both projects were realised in Germany and present reconstruction of an industrial building with change of its basic use. For defining this architectural direction, use is made of the term «revitalisation». Special attention in the review is given to the identification of artistic techniques and specific features of industrial heritage revitalization allowing for the new image and contents of the facilities.
