ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND PLANNING OF TRANSPORT INTERCHANGE HUBS IN THE STRUCTURE OF A POPULATION CENTER

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (58) June, 2017

The article considers the development of transport systems in regions and cities and defines the location of a transport interchange in the structure of a residential settlement as a major factor of influence on the functional layout and planning of the interchange. A transport station development model is proposed based on a review of international experiences. Growing motorization poses a difficult challenge to city planners to create a comfortable city space in the context of increasing human mobility. It is necessary to develop and promote multimodal cargo and passenger transport systems. A transport interchange as an infrastructural element of the passenger traffic serves as a catalyst of urban space development and helps improve the quality of life for people.
