CREATION OF ARCHITECTURAL FORMS WITH THE USE OF ADDITIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN THE 20th-21st CENTURY

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (66) June, 2019

Additive technologies are recognized worldwide as leading advanced technologies. They are widely used in various fields of science and technology from small form design to medicine. Creating a form by using a digital model, one can influence its qualitative characteristics, control the properties of the material, change its fluidity, stiffness, strength and other characteristics. At the same time, the parameters and properties of the structures can be set at the initial stage of programming the data processing process by calculating the structural loads and operating characteristics.

BIONICS AS A NATURAL CATALYST IN ARCHITECTURE

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (62) June, 2018

The article considers the development of a unique architectural direction – bionic architecture. Its key characteristics and manifestations in architectural structures are outlined, examples of projects are given, and development prospects are identified. Experiences in the application of the new technologies in this area are reviewed. Technological advances, environmental requirements, and globalization in architecture have influenced the formation of the new direction with yet unstudied design principles. Based on the already created design techniques within the framework of "green standards», bionic architecture contributes to improvements in environmental balance and preservation of natural resources.
