The estate and the industrial complex of the Vsevolozhskys family in Pozhva: historical analysis and revitalization concept

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №1 (93) March, 2026

The article presents a revitalization concept for the Vsevolozhskys’ estate and industrial complex in Pozhva (Perm Krai), the Ural industrial heritage site in a state of disrepair. A historical analysis and assessment of the current condition identified key preservation conservation. Three revitalization scenarios were compared considering Russian and international experiences in industrial heritage adaptive reuse. A concept is proposed to set up a historic hotel in the main manor house, forming a cluster with the existing "Pozhva" hotel. A crucial component of the proposal is comprehensive development of the Kama Reservoir shoreline with a pedestrian promenade, docking area, and recreational zones. The model seeks to preserve the heritage, ensure economic its self-sufficiency, and stimulate socio-economic development.

LANDSCAPE ANALYSIS AND ITS ROLE IN DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION OF THE UPPER KAMA REGION ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE

Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (66) June, 2019

The article considers the need to structure and catalogue knowledge on the landscapes and environmental objects adjoining architectural heritage. Digital architectural heritage surveying and conservation technologies expand the potentialities of environment and landscape analysis and documentation. The article describes the process of landscape analysis for developing a database. Some results of the landscape analysis conducted for the cities of Cherdyn and Usolye (Perm Krai) and the initial principles of data cataloging are presented. This experience allows us to estimate the amount of data collected. Together with digital 3D models obtained by laser scanning and photogrammetry, these data can make up a complete digital model of the city’s historical parts.
