EXPO 2020 EXHIBITION PAVILIONS AS EXAMPLES OF LATEST ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE FIELD OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

The World Expo exhibitions, which demonstrate the achievements and ideas of the development of countries in various fields of science, technology and culture, are traditionally a place for the implementation of unique architectural projects. A visit to the largest Expo in Dubai in February 2022 enabled us to analyze the latest achievements in exhibition architecture taking into account their role in the overall development of architecture and construction. Specific examples show the correspondence of the architectural and artistic appearance of the exhibition pavilions to the declared themes, history and national traditions of the participating countries. Special attention is paid to environmentally oriented architecture subordinated to the principles of sustainable development with an emphasis on the conditions of the hot dry climate. Examples of interrelation between architectural form and structural engineering solutions in unique exhibition objects are demonstrated. It is shown that the most important environmental component of architecture development is the use of renewable, waste-free recyclable materials.
