Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №3 (87) September 2024

The article considers the development of a recreational and rehabilitation complex in the Republic of Abkhazia. The historical prerequisites for the emergence of the recreational and rehabilitation complexes are considered; the tourism sector of the Republic of Abkhazia is presented as the main factor for the development of the complex. The siting of a complex in the city structure is considered, and the most popular option is identified. External and internal factors influencing the establishment of a year-round complex are determined. The country’s specific functional planning and architectural design decisions that influence the creation of the complex are considered, and limitations to design solutions and ways to solve them are outlined. The research work has suggested the most appropriate organizational scheme as a pavilion, and the modern-day functionalities and space-planning solutions of the complex are defined for the Republic of Abkhazia.
