Experiences in architectural and planning regulation of sustainable development in global cities

In connection with the rapid growth of the world population and the need to implement sustainable development goals, of great interest are global cities that are key to global urbanization and the world economic system. The aim of the study is to examine the experience of sustainable development in global cities in order to create a concept for architectural and planning regulation of such development. The study provides a description of major global cities, including Paris, Berlin, London, New York, and Tokyo. The contents of sustainable development goals and the morphological types of the global cities are expounded. Compliance with sustainable development goals in global cities is assessed. This experience is interpreted from an urban planning perspective. Modern tools for regulating sustainable development are analyzed. Theoretical and practical conclusions about the possibilities of creating a model for architectural and planning regulation of sustainable development in global cities are formulated. In conclusion, further avenues for research and updating the model are identified.
