Formation of a comfortable urban environment. The case of Simferopol: problems and prospects

This article presents the results of a currently relevant study on development of comfortable urban environments. Examples of comfortable urban environment projects implemented in various cities on the Crimean Peninsula are considered. Comfortable urban environment criteria for assessing the quality of populated areas in Russia and urban environmental quality index are analyzed. These play a key role in assessing and analyzing the quality, safety, and comfort of the urban environment in the longer term. Some key issues applicable to Simferopol's urban development are discussed, and recommendations for addressing them are proposed.
