UZBEKISTAN TEXTILES: THE PHENOMENON OF NATIONAL CULTURE AND CURRENT TREND

The author turns to the history of the Uzbek textiles, showing the relationship of traditional crafts and modern fashion. The subject matter of this study is color, graphic and thematic features of folk ornaments in embroideries and ikats. Examples illustrate the development of this theme in the collections of foreign designers and authors from Uzbekistan, and their relationship with the tradition is highlighted. The results of the study may be used in the preparation of term and final graduate projects and in the development of lecture courses on the history of textiles.
