Geomedia. Postindustrial practices of public space improvement in Arctic cities
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №4 (84) December, 2023
Architecture is the most important tool for transforming the environment. According to S. McQuire, today, the advent of media technologies creates a new “modality”, which turns architecture into a dynamic media product. The article considers the Arctic as a potential space for the application of media architecture and media technologies, emphasizing the possibility of using these tools to solve the unique environmental and socio-economic problems of the region. The Arctic is regarded is a “territory of the future”, where the new media architecture design approaches may have an impact on the environment. The possibility of implementing media architectural practices in different contexts is discussed, particularly in the Arctic, where a number of problems can be solved with the help of these new tools.

NETWORK DESIGN. PLATFORM APPROACHES IN HOUSING DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №4 (76) December, 2021
Network methods of cooperation, information practices and decentralized systems that are emerging in the "general" sectors of the economy can also have an effect in housing (housing construction). Despite external changes such as growing diversity of residential building appearances and landscaping activities, the use of new ideas, informatization and BIM in the housing sector is rather narrow. There is a definite trend towards the return of "typization". At the same time, changes in the 21st century and the so-called “new economy” can bring about methods, cooperation of roles and design techniques that contribute to the customization of types and forms and changes in the understanding of housing, i.e. new practices that are more appropriate for housing and society in the 21st century. This article reports a project carried out at the Vologda State University involving a synthesis of IT ideas and co-participation in housing with the testing of the methodology in a real community.

ECONOMIES OF KNOWLEDGE (KNOWLEDGEABLE ECONOMY) AS A KEY IDEA FOR MODERN HOUSING CONSTRUCTION
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (54) June, 2016
The article considers the potential of applying the emerging concept of "knowledge economy" to the field of housing construction and the possibilities that it may bring about. Knowledge economy shows the underlying (radical) shifts in understanding efficiency and knowledge not only as "external manifestations" but also as a specific resource that does not possess most of the characteristics inherent in the traditional factors. Housing construction on the basis of this concept implies fundamental changes in housing characteristics and architectural qualities, efficiency conditions, and development of new housing systems.

A THIRD WAY: THE REFORM OF HOUSING RATIONALIZATION IN RUSSIA
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №3 (43) September, 2013
The article reviews the evolution of housing rationalization ideas throughout history (pre-industrial, industrial, post-industrial societies). specific post-industrial housing rationalization models are outlined on the basis of emerging post-industrial ideas and trends. The possibility and effectiveness of their application in the current complex Russian context as an alternative to industrial approaches is analyzed to solve the identified housing problems. The core of the study is a comprehensive examination of housing rationalization as part of a broader civilizational context in which the housing system evolves and which needs to be taken into account to ensure an effective housing policy.
