CONVERSION OF ABANDONED INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES IN RESORT CONDITIONS

The article analyses the potential for abandoned industrial facilities to be developed as resorts. It points out the prerequisites for such conversions, identifies territories suitable for such reconstruction, and highlights a special entity, a resort that has arisen from a formerly industrial location.
Based on an analysis of international experiences, the authors suggest a classification of objects for conversion by size (small, medium and large) and by functional focus (housing, exhibition areas and installations, landscaped parks and amusement parks).
