Trends in the formation of high-rise residential buildings with integrated functions on the example of the city of Tyumen

The article is devoted to high-rise residential developments with integrated functions. Residential developments are reviewed regarding design factors and steps of transformation. The first step identified is steadily increasing integration of the social function into the structure of modern residential buildings and high-rise complexes. Based on a classification of social functions and analysis of existing integration techniques, we propose principles of integration and a principle of vertical integration in particular. It is to be seen what the next steps are going to be in the formation of high-rise residential buildings with integrated functions.

THE EVOLUTION OF URBAN POLYCENTRISM THEORY AND PRACTICE IN RETROSPECT

The author considers the dialectical evolution of the 19th-20th century concepts of urban decentralization whilst reviewing the evolution of major cities from monocentric to polycentric plans in developed countries (USA, Europe, Russia, etc.). An attempt is made to periodize this process and to identify practice-based principles for encouraging the development of public and business activity subcentres as a basis for the theory of urban decentralization.
