The article considers planning models for transport corridors and main directions of highways in Sverdlovsk region in combination with the development and construction of new motels allowing for the author's proposals. The concept of Minimum Transport Standard (MTS) is systematised. The importance of research into the development of transport infrastructure is supported by the realisation of the Russian Federation’s transport strategy till 2020.

THEORIES AND CONCEPTS OF MODEL LOCATION IN THE SYSTEM OF MOTOR ROAD SERVICES

The article considers various theoretical approaches by Russian and international researchers to objects of infrastructure in the system of motor road services. The author defines the concept and formulates principles of motel location. A review of definitions has allowed the author to systematise general requirements as to the location of motels within the right-of-way area of motorways taking into account the requirements of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation.
