The article proposes a concept for the development of border-crossing automobile check-point infrastructure and location model in relation to a settlement. Seven main variants of the check-point plan have been identified, and types and methods for the construction of check-point facilities are considered.

A STRUCTURED APPROACH TO THE PROCESS OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF FRONTIER MOTOR VEHICLE POSTS

The article considers a structured approach to the architectural design process for a frontier automobile post and reviews factors contributing to the architectural design of frontier automobile posts and the structure of architectural design process. The author has identified five major factors that are taken into account in developing the architecture of a frontier post: political, socio-economic, historical, planning and natural climatic. The structure of the architectural design process in relation to frontier automobile post is considered to include a development concept, general principles and techniques used in spatial planning, and architectural design of a post’s facilities. The components of the architectural design are considered in terms of being basic or additional.
