ROTUNDA TEMPLES – PRACTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF IDEAL COMPLETENESS

The subject-matter of this study is rotunda temples architecture. The author considers the origins of their emergence and active construction in Russia in the late 18th– early 19th century. A historical analogy is drawn between the rotunda forms of international and Russian architecture, and an attempt is made to outline the symbolic importance of the rotunda temple composition.
