THE COURSE OF SCIENTIFIC TEXT STYLISTICS AS A MEANS OF DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL CULTURE IN MASTER’S DEGREE STUDENTS OF ARCHITECTURE
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №4 (68) December, 2019
The article reviews the experience of teaching Scientific Text Stylistics to master’s degree students. It describes the discrepancy between the scientific style used by students and the academic norm as a part of a linguostylistic experiment conducted during the course. This discrepancy is due to the phenomenon of the professional culture of the architect, who views architectural objects not only as an analyst but also as an artist and creator. The article proposes a recommendation to include the discussion of this issue into the first few classroom sessions of stylistics for master’s degree students.
