ON THE PROBLEMS OF AND PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF AZOV AND BLACK SEA RESORT AGGLOMERATIONS IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

The article discusses issues in the development of the Azov and Black sea resort (recreational) agglomerations in the context of the state objectives for sustainable development of the resort industry defined in the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for Krasnodar region till 2030, Municipal Strategies for Tuapse, Novorossiysk, and Temryuk districts, Territorial Planning Schemes of the Russian Federation with reference to the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, the Territorial Planning Scheme for the Republic of Abkhazia, and the tourism development programs «Silk Road» and «Bosporus». Using the Sochi resort agglomeration as an example, the authors review problems arising in the management of spatial development of the Azov and Black sea coastlines and formation of Russia’ southern sea façade.
