SPATIAL ECOLOGICAL REGULATION OF WATERS AND COASTALS OF THE BALTIC CITIES IN THE CONTEXT OF ENVIRONMENT REVITALIZATION
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №1 (65) March, 2019
The development of marine spatial planning requires further extension of techniques and development of new tools that meet the regional characteristics of the Russian Baltic, including such factor as the significant anthropogenic impact of the port cities on the water areas. In order to achieve sustainable development of the Baltic port cities and associated water areas, it is proposed to introduce environmental and spatial regulation of water areas into the territorial and maritime spatial planning practice. As the main method of revitalization (renewal, remediation), an ecological framework is proposed by analogy with the territorial ecological framework. Analysis of modern approaches to and experience in international cooperation among European countries in this field provides a basis for putting forward a number of areas of action for implementing the environmental framework in the Baltic Sea.
