THE ORNAMENT OF ‘WIENER WERKSTÄTTE’IN THE DESIGN OF TEXTILE ACCESSORIES: FROM LEARNING TO CREATIVE EXPERIMENT

The article deals with the issue of transformation of historical ornaments into textile compositions with reference to the transformation of Wiener Werkstätte ornamental culture into modern textiles and costume design and reviews the art heritage of these studios embodied in fabrics, carpets, interior decorations and other designs. Special attention is given to drawings and their interpretations in modern fashion. The importance of this theme for postgraduate research is highlighted. Samples of finished articles (textile stoles)are presented.
