Modern tendencies in ecohotel design: foreign and domestic experiences
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (94) June, 2026
Eco-hotels are becoming a key tool in developing sustainable tourism, helping to preserve nature, use resources efficiently, and support local communities. The relevance of this study stems from the lack of systematized knowledge on eco-hotel design in Russia and the need to adapt successful international practices. The article examines architectural, technological, and organizational solutions in the design and operation of eco-hotels as elements of sustainable tourism infrastructure. Methods used include comparative analysis, data systematization, and literature review. The results highlight key trends: seamless integration with the landscape, eco-friendly materials, energy-saving technologies, and innovative accommodation formats. A comparison of domestic and international experiences identifies strengths, limitations, and prospects for adapting best practices in Russia. The novelty lies in a comprehensive approach to eco-hotel design from the perspective of sustainable development, while its practical value provides guidance for creating environmentally responsible tourist facilities.
