The culture of preserving urban memory on the example of the lost architectural objects of Yekaterinburg
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №2 (90) June, 2025
For many centuries, architecture has been one of the most reliable ways to preserve heritage, transfer information, knowledge, technology, and history from generation to generation. The loss of significant objects from the past interrupts this continuity. Connection between memory and architecture is not a new topic; it has been repeatedly considered by other disciplines, but not much attention has been paid to it in architecture itself. The authors focus on how long the memory of lost urban sites continues to exist and how a mindful urban culture is formed.

ARCHITECTURAL ANALYSIS OF PLANNING SOLUTIONS FOR THE FIRST URAL FACTORY HOSPITALS
Architecton: Proceedings of Higher Education №4 (44) December, 2013
The article reviews Ural factory hospitals from various periods and styles: Nizhni-Tagil hospital (Demidov hospital), Zlatoust factory hospital and Satka factory hospital. Comparative analysis covers the plans and front elevations, and layout features, and identifies non-communicating chains of sanitary premises and wards for infectious patients. Differences in the layout and mix of premises enable tracking the evolution of the hospital lay-out and assessing the effects of changes on the planning structure of the buildings as a whole.
