Individual requirements are examined within this evolutionary process in time and their influence on the design process. The work presents materials from various sources (archival materials, the code of laws of the Russian empire, buildings regulations, etc.).

ARCHITECTURAL ANALYSIS OF PLANNING SOLUTIONS FOR THE FIRST URAL FACTORY HOSPITALS

The article reviews Ural factory hospitals from various periods and styles: Nizhni-Tagil hospital (Demidov hospital), Zlatoust factory hospital and Satka factory hospital. Comparative analysis covers the plans and front elevations, and layout features, and identifies non-communicating chains of sanitary premises and wards for infectious patients. Differences in the layout and mix of premises enable tracking the evolution of the hospital lay-out and assessing the effects of changes on the planning structure of the buildings as a whole.
