THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL EFFECTS AND INNER PROCESS DYNAMICS ON THE ARCHITECTURAL ORGANIZATION OF A UNIVERSITY TECHNOPARK

The presence of stable social communities is the most important requirement for the successful functioning of university science parks. The main aim of university science parks is the creation of the main resource of the 21st century, i.e. creative and active trans-professionals in a “science park/university” environment. In summary, architectural solutions that promote the formation of stable communities in “science park / university” environments have the following features:
•Compact layout
•Isolation. • Clustering.
•Form based on element and structure.
•Common spaces for rest and communication.
•Abundant landscaping.
•An outstanding architectural image.

Besides socially organizing principles, there is a range of inner processes that have an influence on science park architecture, such as functional cycles in the life of science-intensive companies, dependence of the science park structure on outputs created, and specific periods in its evolution. As a result, a science park presents a dynamic structure with the following effects:
•When setting up a science park, it is essential to carry out an interdisciplinary study to identify its specific cycles and periods.
•A science park’s architectural project cannot be presented as a set of fixed solutions, even if divided into construction stages.

SPECIFIC FEATURES IN ARCHITECTURAL ORGANIZATION OF TECHNOPARK STRUCTURES

The article describes specific features in architectural organisation and functioning of technoparks. Based on review of international experiences, a number of architectural organization models have been created. These models are a result of application of general principles underlying the layout of technopark environments under various social and economic and territorial conditions. Solution options are sketched, visually showing the architectural features of each model. The main characteristics of architectural organisation of technopark structures are outlined.
