The article reviews works by the architect N.A.Vsevolozhsky over the years of his employment at the design department of the Belomoro-Baltic Canal of NKVD (1934-1941), which had an influence on the formation of his style. The article covers the period of development of Canal’s adjoining territories following its completion. The author considers the development of the town of Medvezhyegorsk, administrative and industrial centre of the Belomoro-Baltic labour camp and works, and briefly describes the main buildings for which the participation of N.A.Vsevolozhsky, directly or indirectly, was documented.
