SEVEN ELEMENTS OF AN ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEM

The article describes the process of theoretical construction of an original synergetic structural and functional model of architecture as part of culture. The aim of the study is to identify elements and connections of the architectural and universal evolutional mechanisms in it. The modelling is realized by using the synergetic and systems approach (V. G. Budanov), based of M. S. Kagan’s concept of the systemic structure of culture. The result of the study is an original synergetic model of architecture. The model consists of seven hierarchical levels which interact with each other and render architecture as part of material, intellectual and artistic culture.

UNIVERSAL FORM-GENERATION SYSTEMS IN ARCHITECTURE IN THEIR HISTORICAL DYNAMICS

The article is an attempt to identify the timeframe of the third global superstyle, a prospective vector of development for architecture in the context of the emerging world community. The objective of this research work is to formulate and define chronologically a hypothesis concerning the origin of an essentially new universal form-generation system in architecture. The author has considered superstyles as certain super-long periods of evolution of architecture in their historical dynamics. To this end, the concept of "superstyle" has been used as a foundation for defining new notions, such as «global superstyle» and «alternative form-generation system». The chronological analysis was carried out by comparing the proposed periodization of architectural evolution with the periodization of social history in terms of the synergetic interpretation of the interdisciplinary direction of the Big history. The outcome of this research work is a forecast identifying the reference point of the new superstyle and, therefore, expanding the understanding of the evolution of architecture on a global scale and in its historical macrodynamics.

В статье предпринята попытка осмысления современной ситуации в архитектуре, а именно выявлены две универсальные формообразующие системы (классическая стилевая архитектура и современное движение XX века, известное как модернизм), а также эклектика и постмодернизм как переломные моменты в мировом архитектурном процессе. Результатом исследования стала составленная принципиальная пространственная модель развития архитектуры.
